It is indeed a pleasure for me to be the teacher for 1st and 2nd Grade. Our Philosophy ‘I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength “Philippians 4: 13 is the premise from which we operate in the classroom. We strive to instill the drive to excel with the help of God.
In 1st and 2nd Grades your precious gems will be molded to develop their academic pursuits, characters, and value in order to prepare them for this world and eternity.
It is important that students’ progress steadily; however, to do this, we will need the support of parents/ guardians. Please encourage your child/ ward to read daily and I also encourage you to read with them as well.
Students are encouraged to participate in the activities of the school to aid in their holistic development. Some of these are the Christmas Play, Field Trips, Church Visitations and Fundraisers.
Below are some of the tasks that we aim to achieve for this year are listed below:
· Homework daily
· One book reports monthly, this is due every 30th of the month
· Completion of enrichment activities on learning platforms – eg. IXL, BrainPOPjr
· A Spelling List will be given every Friday and Spelling Test will be given every Friday.
Throughout the year students will engage in school activities that will be geared towards enhance learning.
Breakfast and Lunch are free from New York City. Students can take their lunch, but we advise that any types of food brought especially meat, align with Seventh -Day Adventist standards.
